My students will learn blending, layering, and texture techniques to create glowing, expressive compositions. Spend 5 hours with me in the studio learning the techniques I use to make my luscious pastel works. Leave with your work and finishing spray with instructions as these artworks may takeup to 24 hours to dry fully. Only 8 spaces are available so sign up before I sellout!
Acrylic Color Block

In this two-day workshop, I’ll guide you through one of my favorite creative processes—building luminous abstract paintings using large palette knives and acrylic color blocks. Together, we’ll explore how color, design, and a bit of spontaneity can transform a simple idea into something alive with energy.
We’ll start by creating underpaintings and experimenting with color combinations and compositional balance. From there, we’ll dive into the expressive fun of layering, blending, and embracing those wonderful happy accidents that happen when we let go of perfection and trust the process.
My goal is to help you create without fear—to discover how much joy and freedom can come from letting color lead the way. Whether you’re an experienced artist or just beginning, you’ll leave with a vibrant piece that feels truly your own and a fresh approach to your creative practice.
We will create in my Duluth Studio 5207 Peabody St Duluth, MN, 55804. If you are coming in from out of town and need lodging we highly recommend the Lake Superior Brewing Brewtel. They offer 1, 2, and 3 bedroom airbnb’s.

Ecoline Watercolors PLUS!
A full-color free-for-all with liquid watercolors.
These vibrant, rewettable inks bring a punch of color and fluidity to any artwork. We'll use brushes, straws, droppers—even gravity—to create expressive, layered works. This class is about loosening up and playing with what the medium gives you. Abstracts, landscapes, lettering—there’s no wrong direction here. Prepare to leave with a few joyful messes and a lot more confidence.
PANDA Paint Party Ages 8-12
Beginner abstract art with Royal Talens Panda products.
This is a high-energy, creative chaos zone for young artists ready to explore color, shape, and self-expression. We’ll play with bold lines, color blocking, and creative prompts designed to unlock each child's artistic voice. Using the approachable and vibrant Panda line of materials, students will gain confidence while having a blast. Warning: may lead to increased artistic ambition.
Teen Mixed Media Studio
A deeper dive into expressive art for emerging creators.
This class takes the core of Mixed Media Extravaganza and adds just the right edge. Tailored to teen artists, we explore more complex layering, color theory, and storytelling through materials. There’s room for experimentation and support for refining ideas. Students will leave with a finished piece and a stronger understanding of their personal creative style.
